Agency life: a trip to Longwood Gardens
Just like work happy hours, work outings are a great way to connect with your coworkers and create a friendlier working environment. And in the middle of a brutal winter, Aloysius Butler & Clark knew how to bring a little sunshine and color: with a work outing.
When I walked into work on a chilly February day, I was greeted with a unique save-the-date. It read, “Join us for a Touch of Spring. More details to follow.”
I was intrigued and could not wait to figure out what “a touch of spring” was all about. The next day I received a calendar invite: “Let’s take a break from the cold by spending the afternoon enjoying the beautiful sights, sounds and scents at Longwood Gardens.”
Located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Longwood Gardens was recently named the best public garden by readers of USA TODAY and 10Best. As a Kennett Square native, I’ve been to Longwood Gardens numerous times but was excited to experience the “touch of spring” adventure with my coworkers.
Here are a few photos from our outing:
A touch of spring was just what the doctor ordered to get rid of our winter blues.
Considering an employee outing? Do it. Travel to a nearby museum, public garden or nature center. It’s a great way to create stronger relationships with your employees. According to Lera Blog, workers who interact in an off-the-job environment enjoy a positive relationship with their company. Next employee outing on AB&C’s list: our 6th annual summer kickoff party.
